Christophe is a co-founder of The Académie and an experienced French teacher with over 16 years in education. Coming from a family of educators, teaching has always been central to his life. His professional journey has taken him across Belgium, Senegal, and the United States, giving him a rich international perspective. Beyond academics, Christophe is in charge of the school’s nutrition program. In June 2024, he earned a degree as a chef, aligning his expertise with the school’s vision of healthy, fresh, and balanced meals as an essential part of student well-being. His background in scouting and sports coaching (basketball and soccer) also reflects his commitment to teamwork, leadership, and personal growth.
Dolly Owusu
Co-Founder • School Lead
Dolly is the School Lead and co-founder of The Académie, bringing over 20 years of experience in education. Born in Ghana and educated in French-speaking Belgium from the age of eight, her personal journey shaped her strong belief in bilingualism, multicultural education, and kindness Dolly holds a degree in Teaching, studied languages, completed internships in Austria, and has taught in the United States since age 18, most recently in Louisiana, where she was elected Best Teacher of the Year at Erath Middle School. Her passion for project-based learning, including theater as a pathway to language acquisition, continues to inspire both students and educators. As School Lead, Dolly oversees the school’s educational vision, academic quality, and daily operations, while supporting teacher developments and building strong partnerships with families.
